We’re Taking Up Golf

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

It’s true, your favorite Seattle iPhone app developer is taking up golf – golf app development that is. Did we have you fooled? Worried? Scared?… No? Not even for a second? Oh, you’re just reading to learn more about our new golf app, not caring at all about our hobbies, hopes, or dreams?

Welp, we can’t really blame you – just look at this app!

Best Camera on Wired’s 20 Favorites for 2009

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Wired declares 2009 as “the year of the app,” and respectfully… we agree! It was nearly impossible to pickup a newspaper (yeah, we still read off of actual paper on occasion), browse favorite RSS feeds, or retweet some tweets without seeing “iPhone,” “apps,” or “Übermind” – okay, we’re half joking with that last one.

In their “20 Favorite iPhone Apps of 2009“, Wired includes Best Camera for its ability to make photos from even the first- and second-generation iPhones “look awesome.”

Macworld Awards Best Camera

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Image courtesy of MacworldWe promised there would be more Best Camera highlights to post about on the ‘ol Über Blog, and sure enough we are at it again!

In its 2009 App Gem Awards, Macworld selected Best Camera and 19 other apps (one for every slot on the iPhone’s Home screen). Needless to say, this Seattle iPhone developer is pretty jazzed to receive the award and for Best Camera to get “Four out of Five Mice” from Macworld!

To develop an iPhone app as great as Best Camera, it really takes a solid team; we’d like to thank… HOLD UP!!! This app is pretty good and we’re gonna let you keep reading about it, but Beyoncé had one of the best apps of all time!!! Okay, sorry for the reference, but we couldn’t resist! Besides, Beyoncé doesn’t even have an app… Beyoncé, if you’re reading this and would like an app, let us know!

Any way, back to Best Camera; here’s what Macworld had to say about these “gems” of the +115,000 apps on the App Store:

NY Times, PDN, Phil Schiller, Oh My!

Monday, December 7th, 2009

BestCam_smallWe’re getting a few of our presents early this holiday season! Best Camera has recently received some major accolades from the likes of the New York Times, PDN (Photo District News), and Phil Schiller (Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple). Though it’s hard to believe Best Camera could get more props than it already has, we are very thankful for the all the love shown to our app, which is definitely a staff favorite here at Übermind.

Holiday Gift Guides Love Übermind Apps

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Not to “toot our own horn” but… actually, we are totally tooting our own horn because we are really excited to see Übermind-developed apps in a ton of holiday related “best of’s,” wish lists, gift guides, etc.!

As a mobile app developer, we could let all the mentions, recommendations, and so forth go to our head, but we really just feel pretty lucky and honored to see our iPhone apps (and some of our apps for Android) show up all over the place and be seen as something worth recommending!

With that said, here’s Rick Steves’ Historic Paris Walk for the iPhone and iPod Touch in the holiday email that you probably received today from our friends at Apple…
